Weekly Roundup: New iPads and Entitled Users

Aaron Brethorst, October 26, 2013

Apple's big fall product announcements happened last week. Plus, iOS 7 app updates continue to trickle in. This past week finally saw Tweetbot 3's release. Not surprisingly, but perhaps somewhat irritatingly, a large number of reviews for the app are one star on the basis that it's a paid upgrade. I'm continually astounded by the sense of entitlement that some users have, especially on a product that they will likely use every day (or in my case several times a day). But, that is the nature of the beast.

On a brighter note, I am ridiculously excited about the new retina iPad mini, and can't wait to get one (assuming I can even find one when they ship later next month). Of course, they'll be supply-constrained and it sounds like everyone else wants one too, so it might take a while to find one. I had been planning on buying either a 16GB or 32GB wifi model, but after I heard that T-Mobile will be offering 200MB of free data with the iPads compatible with their service, I decided that it would be silly not to buy a cellular-equipped iPad mini. Are you buying a new iPad? If so, which one? If not, why not?

Best,
Aaron
